Description: Charleston Regional Spay Neuter Center, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization doing business as the Fix’Em Clinic is seeking enthusiastic staff members who are committed to our mission to reduce pet and feral cat overpopulation in southern West Virginia through spay/neuter and wellness services. The Fix‘Em Clinic, is a partner Humane Alliance high quality, high volume, low cost spay/neuter clinic in Charleston, West Virginia
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one-year of previous experience, experience in high volume spay neuter, IV injection, and inter tracheal tubing in cats and be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to take direction from the Veterinarian and management. We are looking for someone who is very detailed, accurate and a person who takes pride in their work. The person must be dependable and pleasant to work with and have a passion for working with animals. Essential job functions (not all inclusive)
• Communicate in an effective and professional manner with public, trainees, and all clinic staff members
• Intake and release patients, including delivering post-operative instructions in a competent and friendly manner
• Handle and track controlled substances for large volumes of surgical patients
• Efficiently pre-medicate, induce, and intubate any and all patients as necessary
• Monitor anesthesia, with a clear idea of abnormal conditions
• Ensure prompt and accurate paperwork procedures are followed each day
• Follow all written and verbally communicated clinic standard operating procedures
• Communicate with clients and assist with rechecks as needed
• Respond appropriately during an emergency, able to take directions from the Veterinarian and direct others during the event, and maintain competency during CPR procedures
• Glove in sterilely and assist doctor with surgery when appropriate
• Effectively “team lead,” displaying a positive attitude and acting as a motivating force for all staff members
• Efficiently maintain surgical flow

Our staff will work flexible schedules that may include Monday through Thursdays with availability to work occasional Saturday shifts. Hourly wage/salary is negotiable based on experience and skill level and is competitive within the industry. Benefits include PTO, Medical Insurance, and paid holidays. Hours are scheduled regular and predictable, so you have time to devote to family and other favorite pursuits.

Required experience: Veterinary Technician: 1Year Minimum
