Humane Alliance: A Program of the ASPCA

Description

Description: Altered Tails has an immediate opening for an experienced full-time or part-time surgeon in our East Mesa location.
Altered Tails began in 2003 as a small non-profit organization committed to reducing pet overpopulation and the needless euthanasia of cats and dogs by providing affordable spay/neuter services to those who couldn’t afford them. In 2009 Altered Tails opened its first stationary, high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter clinic in Phoenix. In 2013, a second clinic was opened in Mesa and in 2016, our third clinic in Tucson, Arizona. In 2016, more than 23,000 cats and dogs were sterilized between the three clinics. Today, Altered Tails is the largest 501c3 non-profit spay/neuter clinic network in the state and the only Humane-Alliance accredited organization in Arizona. With an outstanding reputation in the animal welfare community, our focus is on providing high quality, low-cost services and eliminating euthanasia as a means of population control for companion animals and free-roaming cats. Our client base is made up of customers with owned animals and shelters/rescue groups.
We are seeking an experienced doctor with a strong belief in our mission. If you enjoy surgery, like a fast- paced environment and are committed to excellent patient care, this is the job for you. This position is responsible for the daily care and sterilization of all surgical patients and maintenance of preventative health programs and medical protocol along with re-checks and aftercare calls. Duties also include providing veterinary medical supervision for all veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, kennel staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate should be able to perform 25 surgeries per day with the ability to increase to 35-40 surgeries per day.
We are a small but mighty staff who are proud of our growth and our results. What makes Altered Tails stand out above all of the other clinics is the combination of our highly trained and skilled staff, their passion for animals, and their desire to decrease the needless euthanasia of animals.
The Mesa clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 – 5:00 and on the third Sunday of every month. Salary is based on experience and ability to perform high quality, high volume spay/neuter surgeries. Relocation bonus available.
