Description: As a member of our highly skilled vaccine clinic team, the DVM is responsible for performing PEs, drawing blood for heartworm and FeLV tests, administering vaccines, prescribing heartworm prevention, flea prevention and deworming. Great client communications skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to improve the lives of pets are a must.

Summary of essential job functions
Provide high-quality preventative care to vaccine clinic patients.
Speak to patrons regarding the importance of spay & neuter, microchipping, vaccinations, heartworm & flea preventative, basic pet care, positive behavior modification, etc.
Recognize the impact of providing low-cost veterinary care in our community and further IndyHumane's mission by representing IndyHumane appropriately.
As time permits, assist in the care, treatment, and rehabilitation of shelter animals—performing exams & diagnostics, initiating treatment, ordering medications, taking radiographs, etc.
Work, communicate, and interact professionally with all staff members and clients as part of a fast-paced and highly-efficient clinic team.
Demonstrate low-stress animal handling skills.
Communicate and follow safety and hazard procedures.
Work collaboratively with management, medical, animal care, customer service and volunteer staff.
Hours are Friday 1:00pm-7:00pm and Saturday 11:00am-6:00pm at the shelter campus, located at 7929 North Michigan Road. Interested Veterinarians should email their resume to Cass Goodnight at cgoodnight@indyhumane.org.
