Description: HQHV Spay & Neuter Veterinarians Needed for Expanding Program

The SPCA for Monterey County is expanding their HQHV Spay and Neuter program and needs Full-time, Part-time and Contract/Relief Veterinarians to provide spay/neuter surgeries for public and shelter animals and for companion animal herd-health management in cooperation with shelter leadership and fellow staff veterinarians. The successful candidate
o Sustains a daily target of 25+ HQHV spays and neuters.
o Is willing and able to work one weekend day a week as assigned.
o Has a minimum of 2 years successful experience in a non-profit HQHV Spay and Neuter Clinic/Shelter.
o Maintains a professional and positive working relationship with clients, community, staff and volunteers.
o Provides training for staff and volunteers and provides client education on a case by case basis as needed.
o Conducts shelter rounds in rotation with fellow veterinary staff members.
o Reports to a professional practice manager who supervises clinic staff and volunteers and who manages administrative and logistical practice matters including scheduling, work flow, etc.
o Must hold or obtain a valid California DVM license and be eligible to hold a DEA license.
o Will be enrolled at SPCA expense in continuing education training programs as approved by management.
The SPCA for Monterey County offers full-time regular veterinarian staff a comprehensive compensation package including a salary of $110,000.00/yr+ DOE, including full medical and dental coverage, life insurance, participation in a tax-deferred 403(b) retirement program, and paid sick, vacation and holiday leave.
